These are the things we would like to implement next:

  - 100% cycle-exact VIC-II emulation;

  - better handling of automatic refresh rate setting when sound is enabled;

  - snapshot format to freeze the emulation state;

  - faster SID;

  - `true' P00 support with the real names;

  - VIC20 memory handling from the menus;

  - VIC20/C64 cartridge support;

  - faster screen handling on MS-DOS for the VIC20 (we really should use a
    lower Mode-X resolution instead of duplicating pixels);

  - support for GUS cards on MS-DOS (e.g. adapting gus.c from UAE);

  - cycle-exact SID;

  - filters in the SID emulation;

  - add drive LEDs (should work only with the `trap idle' method);

  - warn about disabling / enabling true1541 in the middle of loading;

  - different ROM entries for PET 3032/4032/8032;

  - better handling of REU load/save;

  - one option to reset the machine and load files without doing a manual
    LOAD;

  - FS-based drive on any serial device, not just #11;

  - MS-DOS: implement a complete user interface;
    [file selector and input field implemented, menus are incomplete]

  - MS-DOS: make sound, two options:
    - adapt sb.c and gus.c from UAE;
    - use Midas Sound System (http://kalahari.ton.tut.fi/s2/midas);

  - filters in the SID emulation.

We are sorry but we really cannot keep up with the x128 development. x128 (the
C128 emulator, that was included in VICE 0.10.0 and 0.11.0) will not be
maintained any longer, though we would like it to be. If you feel like you can
help the project and keep x128 alive, you are of course welcome to send your
contributions. [notice that `our' x128 has nothing to do with the X128 Spectrum
Emulator, whose name was chosen independently]
