----------------------------------------------------------------------------

1) Building lxb

Unzip and untar the archive lxb-0.5.tar.gz. You will see several directories
and files.

In the "src" directory you can either run "xmkmf" or try one of the
Makefiles provided.

Then:

make clean; make depend; make

2) Installing lxb

The app-defaults file (Lxb) can be found in the "src" directory.

The X application defaults for lxb can be placed any of many places,
depending on how you do your X resources.

Install the executable somewhere your "path" refers to.

3) Using lxb

Limited documentation is in the file INSTRUCT. (TBD)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

I would be interested in hearing from you if you find a use for lxb, and/or
if you would like to be kept informed as to the status of the program.
Please feel free to send any bug reports, fixes, enhancements, ports to other
systems, and money. :-)

JAVA Anyone?

lxb currently only generates C code. It would be rather interesting if it
could also generate Java/AWT code. If you have some experience developing in
Java/AWT (and at least an exposure to X/Motif) and would be interested in working
on a Java code generator for lxb drop me a line.
