What is Eucalyptus?
===================

Eucalyptus is a MIME-aware email application. It is loaded with features,
perhaps more than you can use, but is designed for flexibility and power.

At present, it's being "ported" from the Amiga. I use the term "ported" very
loosely, since it's really being written from scratch, while maintaining the
style of the original program. I want to take full advantage of the Gnome and
GTK libraries and the power of the Linux/Unix OS, so a straight port is
undesirable.

System Requirements
===================

Eucalyptus should build on Linux and most Unixen. It needs:

- the X11R6 libraries,
- glib, gdk and gtk 1.2.4 or higher libraries,
- imlib,
- GNOME 1.0.42 or higher libraries,
- popt, commandline-line parsing package (available on http://rpmfind.net)

Use
===

Run it. It doesn't do much yet, since it's just an alpha development release.
Test things out, see how it feels.
