The Keyterm(inal) server implements a PC driven user interface for
large display telephone sets on a telephone service unit that has
been integrated with a PC. The keyterm interface provides menus and
services for managing user status and hotelling, as well as device
control and security interfaces, all of which can be managed from said
large display phones.

Currently Keyterm is implemented for the DBS phone system and works
in conjunction with the dbs_server. Other systems may be integrated
through other means. Hence, a build tree for each different vendor
telephony equipment is required.

The keyterm for the DBS implements the DBS "ACD" key to provide a
menu and control services through a DBS large display telephone with
soft key control. This code has only just been started, and will be
used initially to verify the functionality of API services.

The "keyterm" program responds to the pressing of a "SPECIAL" api key.
This key is programmed as feature "*8" on a digital telephone set. When
the "*8" feature key is pressed, the DBS sends an API message. the
keyterm server receives the "*8" API message and then will attempt to take
control of the station and present it's own menus, etc.

Incidently, "*8" cannot be entered directly from the keypad; it must be
programmed on a feature key. The only function this key does on it's
own is provide the API message when the key is pressed, and will do so
regardless of the current state of the digital telephone set.
