Making Documents

New Document from a Template

Create a new document by selecting the File...New...Document menu item.

Use the dialog box to give a name to your new document, select a template, and choose a destination directory.

After clicking the OK button, LaHelper will copy the template to the requested location, set up your document, and open it in a text editor.

Viewing the Finished Document

Click the Make button on the toolbar to translate the document to DVI, PS, and PDF formats. The GUI will switch to the Utility Terminal notebook tab so you can watch the translation process.

Click on one of the three buttons corresponding the the format of the document that you would like to view. LaHelper will open the document.

The DVI or PS formats can be used to preview the document as you work on it. Click the Make button and then refresh the document in your DVI or PS viewer to see the results of your changes.
