PEQ is kinda like the BSD game "fortune". It basically randomly selects a
quote from it's huge database and prints it on the screen.
I know that doesn't sound all that exciting but it's pretty cool, actually.

WARNING: PEQ contains a few offensive quotes. If you are overly sensitive then
please remove them before usage. If enough people bug me about this, I'll
filter the database. But until then...

If you already have fortune, read this (otherwise skip to the next paragraph):
Fortune is a pretty cool program but (in my opinion) far from perfect. First
of all it includes lots of stuff which is are even vaguely funny or thought
provoking. I tried to include the best stuff I could get in PEQ. Also...

I promise to update PEQ as often as I can (ideally every Friday or Saturday
I'll post a new peq.lib up). Plus, I'm accepting contributions. Just e-mail me
a quote and (if I like it) I will put it in along with your name - instant
fame can be yours! :)

PEQ is probably the easiest program to use on Earth. Just type "peq" at the
prompt and you'll be shown a quote.
That's it. If you want, though you can do some extra stuff with it...

You can use the following options:
--help displays a quick help message
--quote <num> displays quote number <num>
--search <keyword>	search for <keyword>
(currently only one keyword is supported...)
I'm open to suggestions for other things you want PEQ to do (check out TODO).

A cool way to use PEQ is to make it start every time you login. I have PEQ in
my .profile (you mith use .login or autoexec.bat or whatever).

In case you're wondering... PEQ currently stands for Portable Easy Quote. If
you think that's the lamest excuse for an acronym that you've ever heard then
you're right! :) PEQ originally meant Perl Easy Quote because PEQ was
originally written in Perl. But because the program is now written in C++, so
the title didn't make much sense. Anyways, after some (but not too much)
thought I kept the acronym but changed it's meaning.

You can always get the latest version of PEQ and peq.lib at:
http://rope.cjb.net
You'll also find lots of other cool stuff there.

I hope you enjoy PEQ. And don't forget to drop me a line with new quotes to
add to the database. :)
