                 tbook/tbook-win 1.4 Distribution Guide

WELCOME TO tbook!

This file contains a brief distribution guide for yet another XML
authoring tool, tbook.

Here is a brief description of the files that are important for the
start:

 * 00readme.txt is this file.

 * manifest.txt lists all the files in the tbook distribution with one
   line information about their contents.

 * tbookman.tex/tbookman.pdf describes how to install tbook and gives
an overview of usage. It also contains an element reference.

 * ltxmleb.tex is a description in German with a general examination
of XML. It is only part of the tbook source distribution and also
directly available on the tbook homepage.

 * As for the Linux source distribution, Makefile can be used to
install tbook; "make" and "make install" should do the job as usual
-- and as usual, they probably wouldn't. ;-)

All distributed .dtx files can be processed by LaTeX to get further
detailed information. Especially tbookdtd.dtx may be interesting.

You must use Saxon 6.5.x with tbook! Saxon version 7 is not yet
supported.

The project homepage is at http://tbookdtd.sourceforge.net, and there
you also find an example document, which is not included in this
distribution.

LEGAL ISSUES

The distribution is distributed under the LPPL. See the headers of
the files for further details. The files contained in the
distribution are listed in manifest.txt.

You are not allowed to change the files in this distribution unless
you rename them, *except* for certain files that allow this in their
header.

You are encouraged to use portions of the code of this distribution
freely in your own projects. Especially some MathML routines may be
of more general interest. In this case, mention the origin of the
used parts.

For your convenience, in the tbook archive (.zip or .tar.gz) are also
other files created by other people. As for the Linux distribution of
tbook, these are most files in entities/ which contain their own legal
information.

The Windows distribution of tbook contains pnmtopng.exe,
ppmtojpeg.exe, pnmfile.exe and netpbm.dll which are part of the netpbm
distribution. It's maintained by Bryan Henderson and hosted at
http://netpbm.sourceforge.net.

It also contains the program jpeg2ps.exe that is copyrighted by Thomas
Merz.

Additionally the files libjpeg.dll, libpng.dll, and zlib.dll are
included. libjpeg.dll is part of the Independent JPEG Group's JPEG
software. libpng.dll is copyrighted by Glenn Randers-Pehrson,
randeg@alum.rpi.edu, its homepage is at http://www.libpng.org.
zlib.dll is copyrighted by Jean-loup Gailly (jloup@gzip.org) and Mark
Adler (madler@alumni.caltech.edu). All of this is free software,
however under different licences. Since the distributions I have fail
to be more specific, I limit it here to the origin names/addresses.

Finally the program utod.exe is part of the tbook zip file. I don't
know how it's copyrighted, probably by DJ Delorie at
http://www.delorie.com.
