"What's new" file for tbook/tbook-win
=====================================

New in release 1.4:
-------------------

A testsuite is available on tbook's project page.

Much nicer Windows installation.

For equations bitmaps preview.sty is used, which makes it *much*
faster.

A new XSLT parameter value, namely css-mode=very-careful, let you
create pages that can even be viewed with Netscape 4.

Nicer HTML tables.

<references> now also allowed within <article>.

New in release 1.3b:
--------------------

tbook, xindy, and saxon are now available as RPM packages on tbook's
homepage.

Man pages for tbtolatex, tbtohtml, tbtodockbk, tbprepare, and tbook in
general.

tbtolatex, tbtohtml, tbtodockbk, and tbprepare can now print their
synopsis and are safer to use.

The tbook DTD is now available as a browsable reference.

New in release 1.3a:
--------------------

Nicer figures in DocBook.

Two new elements: <theorem> and <proof>.

New in release 1.3:
-------------------

There are now two distributions: The old Linux/source code
distribution, and the Windows binaries distribution. Both are under
the LPPL, but the Windows distribution also contains some foreign EXE
files. See 00readme.txt for further information.

Improved documentation.

You can know add a "class" attribute to the top-level element that's
interpreted as the file name of a LaTeX .sty file that you want to be
used with this document.

You now have a <keywords> element with which you can give meta
information about your document.

Important: The elements <frontmatter> and <article> have a new
contents model. <keywords> has been included, and for <frontmatter>,
<graphics> was moved immediately before <typeset>. You may now also
use <year> within an <article>, however, it's not yet interpreted.

<verb> has a freer contents model.

Nicer cross linking in PDF.

Support for text color.

You don't need to use 8-bit BibTeX files any more. tbook should be
able to use your old BibTeX databases, even if they contain accented
characters.
