gView is currently only distributed as source code and needs to be compiled.

Extract the archive, which you should have done already.

Run ./configure to automatically configure the build

Use ./configure --help to see what options are available to you.

Run make to build gView.

Run make install-strip to install gView into /usr/local/bin.

You can now run gView by typing gview. Enjoy.

If you want to use the GNOME menu items, run ./install.GNOME to install the
relative items.
